Presenter: Nick Walker is a faculty member in the School of Undergraduate Studies. He is also a CIIS alumnus, a graduate of the Interdisciplinary Studies BA program and the Somatic Psychology MA program. Nick is a co-founder and editor at the independent publishing house Autonomous Press. He holds a 6th degree black belt in aikido, and is the founder and senior instructor of the Aikido Shusekai dojo in Berkeley.

Nick is recognized as one of the leading thinkers in the emergent field of neurodiversity. His innovative transdisciplinary work on neurodiversity, neuroqueering, autism, embodiment, creativity, and transformative practice have made him a sought-after public speaker and consultant. He has contributed to a number of books, including Towards an Archeology of the Soul (2003), Loud Hands: Autistic People Speaking (2012), The Real Experts: Readings for Parents of Autistic Children (2015), and The Spoon Knife Anthology (2016). He has also been featured in the documentary films Orphans of Delirium (2004), Dreambody/Earthbody(2012), and Spectrum: A Story of the Mind (2015). Many of his writings on neurodiversity can be found on his website, Neurocosmopolitanism.
