Sri Aurobindo’s integral psychology is built, in large part, around a deep exploration of the relationship between Purusha (or pure consciousness) and Prakriti (the dynamic manifestation of consciousness). In this lecture, we will examine the meaning of these two crucial ideas, and we will investigate their usefulness in the context of clinical practice.

Presenter: Eric Weiss, Ph.D. teaches graduate level courses on the philosophy and psychology of Sri Aurobindo at the Sophia Center of Holy Names College, and lectures on the philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead at the California Institute of Integral Studies. He is also a psychotherapist in private practice.
